Magnetic Contacts:
34% of burglars manage to get in through the front door and 22% come through the back door! You would think that someone would notice this type of break-in, but with people so busy these days, who has the time to be a nosy neighbor anymore! To protect your doors, your First Alert Profesional dealer will probably use magnetic contacts. These devices are also a great choice for the windows in your house. Never seen a magnetic contact before? Well, you haven't really lived, have you?
Motion Detector:
This clever name explains that this device "detects motion" inside the home. But we're sure you probably figured that out. What you probably didn't know is that if you are an animal lover, it is still possible to include this product in your home. In fact, we make motion detectors that can tell the difference between a crawling intruder and an animal that weighs up to 70 lbs. How do we do it? We're just that good!
Glassbreak Detector:
Bet you already know what this one does. It detects breaking glass! Simple enough! These are usually used in homes that contain a lot of glass. Your mom probably explained the merits of not throwing stones in these types of houses, but burglars don't pay attention to their mommies! If they break a window and you have a glassbreak detector installed, your alarm will sound.
Siren:
We're not talking about the mythological creature that sent mariners to their death with a lovely musical number. But our sirens can belt out an important song of safety for your family. Usually installed in a central location, it can be heard throughout the house. If an intruder tries to break-in, the sound of the siren will usually send him running. Plus, if you have a fire detection system installed, the siren will alert you to the emergency.
Smoke Detector:
We're sure you know what important function this product serves. Depending on the laws in your area, there may be some regulations regarding their placement. However, the thing to remember about our smoke detectors that differs from those you buy in a hardware store, is that our detectors can be monitored by a central station. That way if fire strikes and you are not home, the central station will notify the fire department. This can mean the difference between returning to an empty lot or minimized damage. It's really a simple decision to make, when you think about it.
Keypads:
So now that you know all the different products available, what do you use to turn the thing on? Our answer, a First Alert Professional keypad. If you can use a telephone, which we're sure you can, you can operate our keypads. Every system usually has one of these near the most frequently used door.
Wireless Products:
Now you've hit an area that really gets us excited. What can I say, we enjoy creating technological breakthroughs in the industry. Our wireless technology has been proven over the years in millions of installations. It offers exceptional range, rock-solid stability and long battery life. The ability to use wireless, hardwire or combinations of both, gives our installers the flexibility they need to overcome installation obstacles like cathedral ceilings, brick walls and cement floors.
Interactive Phone Module:
It sounds complicated, but it's really simple to use. It turns any touch tone phone into a keypad. Now if you take a trip to South Beach to see the "sites", you can enter your code to check the status of your system. Or if you space out in the morning madness, you can arm the system from your phone at work.
Wireless Key:
A hot item that fits right on your keychain. It has four buttons that can be programmed in a variety of ways. With the press of one button, your porch light can go on. With the press of another button, you can turn off your security system. Too bad we can't figure out how to get it to mow the lawn!
Who controls all of this? The Control Panel, the brains of our system. It's like our little valedictorian. Usually placed in a closet, the control panel "controls" every part of the protection. And once it's in place, there's nothing you have to do with it. It works 24 hours a day, without reciting any long graduation speeches!
Well, now you know about most of the products we offer. Seems like a lot and it is. But when it comes to your family, isn't it worth it to provide the best protection possible?
